Fred Buckman, Chairman of the Board
Mr. Buckman is a Sr. Executive with extensive experience in electric and gas utility operation and management, as well as engineering and construction management, project development, company startup and private equity. Fred has successfully managed a startup company to a liquidity event and has run both small and large companies. He has sustained a track record of making money for shareholders while delivering high value to customers and clients. Fred is currently Executive Chairman of SPG Solar, an integrator of solar technology for commercial and industrial applications, and has held various other Board positions since the mid 1990’s. Fred has a Bachelor of Science Engineering degree from the University of Michigan, a PhD in Nuclear Engineering with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has completed the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School.
Scott Mackin, Denham Capital
Scott Mackin is a Managing Partner and Co-President at Denham Capital and heads the firm’s Power & Renewables team. Scott brings 25 years of energy experience to Denham and is a member of the Executive Committee, Investment Committee, and Valuation Committee. Prior to joining Denham, Scott was President and CEO of Waypoint Energy, Managing Partner at The Chatham Group, President and CEO of Covanta Energy Corporation, President of Ogden Energy, and General Counsel at Ogden Projects. Scott currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Greenleaf Power LLC, BioTherm Energy, Gradient Resources Inc., Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (“FRV”), and Rio Energy. Scott received a Bachelor of Arts, Honors Program, from Villanova University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School.
Linda Miller remains Chairwoman of the Finance Committee, and oversaw the successful closing of Gradient’s January 2010 $108 million equity funding. She currently works for a subsidiary of a Fortune 500 company overseeing the financing process on a team developing a portfolio of coal- and petroleum coke-fired gasification-related projects in the Midwest and Gulf Coast. Ms. Miller also worked for TECO Energy for 22 years, with her last position Senior Vice President Finance for TECO’s independent power subsidiary. Her subsidiary and corporate positions over the years included responsibility for capital raising, accounting, investor relations and funded benefits plans. While there, she oversaw the issuance of billions of dollars of innovative project, corporate and tax-oriented financings. She won several industry awards for project finance “deals of the year”. She also worked for three years for the Department of the Army in Stuttgart, Germany. In addition to her role as Chairwoman of the Finance Committee, Ms. Miller sits on the Audit and Indemnification Committees.
Bob Warburton, Denham Capital
Bob Warburton is an Operating Partner at Denham Capital, where he provides advice and services to the firm and its portfolio companies on a variety of management and operational areas. Prior to joining Denham, he was Senior Vice President of Operations for Waypoint Energy and Vice President of Operations for InterGen. Bob also served as General Manager of Ocean State Power for J. Makowski Co., a Plant Manager for the City of Colorado Springs Utilities Department and a Field Engineer at Babcock & Wilcox. He serves as acting CEO of Plantation Energy and previously served as acting CEO of Gradient Resources Inc. Bob currently serves on the Board of Directors of Gradient Resources Inc. Bob received a Bachelor of Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Colorado. He has been a Registered Professional Engineer since 1984.
Mr. Marks is the Chairman of the Audit Committee. He has extensive experience in electric utility and independent energy management as well as accounting, project development and financing. Stan has demonstrated a good track record of delivering financial results to shareholders and value to partners, customers and clients. Stan has a Bachelors degree in Business and Accounting from Central Washington University and was a CPA with Deloitte and Touche for 11 years.
Riaz Siddiqi, Denham Capital
Riaz Siddiqi is a Founder and Managing Partner at Denham Capital and brings more than 32 years of experience to the firm in the energy and asset management fields. He is a member of the Investment Committee and Valuation Committee. Prior to joining Denham, Riaz was President and CEO of Capstone Global Energy, and previously held executive roles, including Managing Director at Cinergy Capital and Trading and other Cinergy companies. Riaz also served as Manager, Market Management Research, for the Electric Power Research Institute, and in various professional capacities with Georgia Power Company, San Diego Gas & Electric and Southern Company, after spending some time as a project engineer in Pakistan. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Denham investee companies Gradient Resources, Vitag and Trans-Tasman Resources Ltd. Riaz is a volunteer pilot for Grace Flight of America, Pilots for Patients and Veterans Airlift Command and is a recipient of the Asia Society Houston Center’s award for leadership in business and philanthropy. Riaz is involved in several public service causes and serves on the board of the American Pakistan Foundation, and is on the Leadership Council of Convergence. Riaz received a Bachelor of Science from Pakistan University of Energy & Technology and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Graduate School of Business at Mississippi State University.
